Posted by akosistella on March 29, 2010

MANILA, Philippines – Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Senator Manny Villar lashed back at critics for allegedly distorting facts surrounding the death of his younger brother, Danny, to taint his reputation and discredit his campaign.

Villar was particularly peeved by what he described as “lies” that they were able to afford hospitalization for his cancer-stricken brother.

While acknowledging that his brother was rushed to the FEU Hospital, Villar said Danny was admitted as charity patient.

Estrada son calls Villar ads ‘plastic’

MANILA, Philippines—Filipinos are starting to see through Sen. Manuel Villar’s massive television advertising campaign that he is neither a leader of the opposition nor a champion of the poor, according to a son of former president Joseph Estrada.

San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito, who’s now running for a seat in Congress representing San Juan, was reacting to the Social Weather Stations latest survey showing Villar slipping by six percentage points from his previous rating.

“Ayaw ng tao ng plastic (People’s don’t go for persons that put up a face),” Ejercito said Monday.
