Davide endorses Aquino, Roxas

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. on Monday endorsed Liberal Party presidential candidate Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and running mate Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II.Speaking at a press conference held here, Davide said he considered Aquino and Roxas “the best choice for the Filipino electorate, for the good of our country.”

“When it comes to the position of president and vice president of our country. We need people who could clearly lead our country sincerely, authentically for the common good and for the interest of the people,” he explained.

Davide, who had just resigned as Philippine Ambassador to United Nations, effective April 1, arrived home to help in the campaign of his son, Hilario III and running mate incumbent vice-governor Gregorio Sanchez. Both are running under the Liberal Party against Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and her running mate Glenn Soco of One Cebu party.
