Villar dares Aquino to disclose campaign sponsors

MANILA, Philippines–Nacionalista Party (NP) standard-bearer Senator Manny Villar on Monday dared Senator Benigno Aquino III, his closest rival in the presidential race, to name the people or groups funding his campaign to see who is really being backed by the Arroyo administration.
Turning the tables on Aquino, Villar said records will show that the Liberal Party candidate has spent close to P500 million for his advertisements alone but the identities of his funders remain the “biggest mystery” in the 2010 presidential polls.
In the past weeks, Villar has been hounded with the ‘VillArroyo’ talks that allege that he is the real candidate of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo.
MEANWHILE, check out the new TV ad of Sen. Villar. His idol could be another Manny…Manny V. Pangilinan. Check out Juan Country, Carlo Ople’s blog, to find out why. I would challenge Villar to disclose who his ad people are.
Btw, Senator, that TOPAK acronym just doesn’t flow quite as well as Lito Banayo’s “Money Villaroyo”. Too bad. Back to the drawing board again. Tsk, tsk.
