Remulla warns of another attempt by administration to cheat in elections

MANILA, Philippines – Nacionalista Party (NP) spokesman and senatorial candidate Gilbert Remulla warned yesterday of another attempt by President Arroyo and her allies to undermine the May elections after the chief executive transferred the supervision of the National Printing Office (NPO) from the Office of the Press Secretary to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
While the NPO and the PIA are offices under the Office of the Press Secretary, the NP stalwart is more concerned that the PIA is headed by Conrado “Dodie” Limcaoco, who is a known election operator.
Remulla even sees a possibility that Limcaoco might also work for the advantage of Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Noynoy Aquino, branding it as a “Gloriaquino scenario” in motion.
“It is a blatant maneuver to rig the elections. If the Liberals were in power their operators might think of that option too. They both have the experience in using Malacañang resources and power for whatever purpose. Dodie is a Cory and GMA fanatic. He worked for the Aquino and GMA governments,” Remulla told The STAR.
