Estrada camp disappointed with Chiz

Posted by akosistella on April 29, 2010

MANILA, Philippines – A son of former President Joseph Estrada expressed his disappointment with Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero Wednesday after the senator endorsed the national tandem of “Noynoy-Binay.”

San Juan City Mayor Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito, one of Estrada’s sons, said their family was disappointed with Escudero for endorsing Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III instead of supporting his father’s bid to regain the presidency.

Ejercito said they did not expect Escudero’s betrayal. According to the San Juan City mayor, Escudero enjoys a close relationship with the Estrada family since it was Estrada who paved the way for Escudero’s political career to advance. The only solace of the Estrada camp was that the senator is backing Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay’s bid for the vice presidency. Binay is Estrada’s running mate.
