Estrada on improved survey ratings: I told you so

Posted by akosistella on April 30, 2010

Spokeswoman Margaux Salcedo said Estrada’s Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino will spend the remaining days of the campaign showing that the LP’s promise of change is empty without an experienced executive like her boss, who was ousted from power in 2001, convicted of plunder afterwards and subsequently pardoned by President Macapagal-Arroyo.

“As I told you, I will give them the surprise of their lives,” Estrada said in a telephone interview, recalling previous interviews in which he said he expected to peak in the surveys in the run-up to the elections and win come May 10.

Estrada answered in the affirmative when asked if the game was now between him and Liberal Party presidential candidate Sen. Benigno Aquino III, the consistent survey leader.

Villar loses support among poor – survey

“Were not really surprised that President Estradas ratings rose. We stuck to our strategy of going directly to the people, and they have realized that Estrada is the real leader of the poor,” said PMP spokesperson Ralph Calinisan.“I think people are starting to realize…that Estrada is the real ally of the masses…. We’re winning back the D and E votes, which are really the Estrada votes,” said Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco, PMP spokesman in Metro Manila.

Aquino stays on top with 39 points. It’s 1-percentage point less than the combined numbers of Villar and Estrada, who are tied at 20 points.
