LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines—Guard the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines as if they are your spouses.
Dr. Josefina Tamondong, Cordillera director of the Department of Education, gave this advice to the region’s public school teachers who will serve as members of the board of election inspectors (BEI) in Monday’s elections.
“It’s just like a marriage contract. Once signed, you have to guard your spouse,” she said.
DoJ, immigration to tackle HDO plea vs Smartmatic execs
MANILA, Philippines – Justice Secretary Alberto Agra said he would meet with officials of the Bureau of Immigration to discuss a petition seeking issuance of a hold departure order against officials of Smartmatic-Total Information Management (Smartmatic-TIM).
Agra said the petition was filed before the Department of Justice by the group piNOY MARka Ko.
“We respectfully submit this Petition for you to issue a hold-departure order against the officials of Smartmatic in order to guarantee that they fulfill their promise to successfully carry out a nationwide automated election on May 10, 2010,” the group said.
