MANILA, Philippines 3rd UPDATE – Makati City Rep. Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr., one of staunchest defenders of election automation, blew his top during Thursday’s House inquiry into alleged poll fraud and cursed at a representative of poll automation supplier Smartmatic.
“You sons of bitches! You had us standing here guaranteeing to the public and the world that even if fraud is committed, we would be able to trace it. We never said that fraud could never be committed, but you said we could trace it. But now, you tell me that at 10 in the evening, you could do it [cheat] and we would never know?” Locsin, chairman of the House committee on electoral reforms and suffrage, told Heider Garcia of Smartmatic.
House probe into ‘hocus PCOS’ stalls Comelec tasks
MANILA, Philippines – The Congressional probe into allegations of electronic cheating during the automated elections is causing delays in the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) tasks, including canvassing and proclaiming election winners, an official said Thursday.
“The allegations of ‘koala boy’ are preventing us from efficiently doing our job,” said Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal, referring to the election fraud whistleblower who appeared on ABS-CBN wearing a mask that made his face look like a koala bear’s.
“We’re supposed to be conducting meetings now and coordinating with field officials, but we can’t do it,” he added.
