Noynoy voters pick Mar more than Binay – SWS
Posted by akosistella on May 21, 2010
ONLY 1 in 4, or 26.4 percent, of those who voted for apparent president-elect Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino 3rd voted Mayor Jejomar “Jojo” Binay of Makati City for vice president, results of the recent TV5-Social Weather Stations (SWS) exit poll showed.
And a larger percentage of those who voted for Aquino picked Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas 2nd (64.4 percent), his official running mate.
Seven out of 10 (71.5 percent) of those who voted for former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada also voted for Binay.
Both Binay and Roxas admit that the endorsement of Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero of the Aquino-Binay tandem, also known as “NoyBi” resulted in a surge in Binay’s ratings.

Special elections on May 28 still tentative
Special elections will be held on May 28 for provinces that declared poll failure during the May 10 polls, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) Thursday.
Comelec Commissioner Gregorio Larra-zabal said the poll body would be holding special elections in seven municipalities of Lanao del Sur, in two municipalities of Basilan, in the towns of Guimbal, Iloilo, Pagsanjan and Western Samar to make up for the failure of polls declared earlier.
But Larrazabal also mentioned that the schedule might be moved, because May 28 will fall on Islam’s worship day.
