MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino on Sunday broke her silence on talks about the possible appointment of television personality and close friend Boy Abunda as Secretary of the Department of Tourism DoT.Kris, youngest sister of president-apparent Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, confessed that it was she who suggested to her older brother to appoint Abunda as DoT secretary, citing the television host’s “marketing capabilities,” among other things.“If anybody is to blame, it’s me. I was the one who brought it up with Noy. I was the one who brought it up with Boy, not realizing naman it would cause such a major [issue], front page, 3 araw na deretso,” she said.

PRESIDENTIAL frontrunner Noynoy Aquino has not even been proclaimed the winner in the polls, yet Kris Aquino, expectedly, continues to make trouble for him. Good grief girl, get a grip! Can’t you just shut up and leave the politics and governing to him? Gads, maawa ka naman sa kuya mo! You’ve given him enough problems already. And you wonder why the Despedida page for you on Facebook is such a big hit?

Tsk, tsk. I can hear many of Noynoy’s diehard groupies gnashing their teeth now.

Noynoy also eyes govt posts for Dingdong, Ogie Alcasid

Posted by akosistella on June 4, 2010

And you thought Girl Abunda as DOT chief was bad enough, huh? Now I’m starting to believe that there may be some truth to those so-called “fake” psychiatric records on Sen. Aquino! It’s either that or the Aquino Cabinet search committee is just sitting on its ass. Que horror!

Seriously, why does Sen. Aquino seem hellbent on paying back all his endorsers and financiers w/ gov’t posts? I thought he was on the highroad to ‘new politics’? Wasn’t he the one who was quoted telling these very same people that they shouldn’t expect anything in return in case he wins? Well, it’s the same ‘utang na loob’ (debt of gratitude) syndrome all over again. Hay.

Boy Abunda open to joining Cabinet after ABS-CBN contract ends

Posted by akosistella on June 2, 2010

MANILA, Philippines – After saying that he was “not inclined” to accept a Cabinet position in president-apparent Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s government, television host and talent manager Boy Abunda is now singing a different tune.

Abunda clarified that he is not closing his doors to the possibility of serving the Aquino administration, at least, not “while I am under contract with ABS-CBN.”

I am not closing my doors. But am I going to accept any offer, halimbawa, today? I am not. No, I am not going to take the position,” he told ABS-CBN News.

Abunda said his contract with ABS-CBN will end in 2011.

Aquino, older brother of Kris Aquino, is eyeing Abunda to become tourism secretary. He took note of “The Buzz” host’s ability to clearly communicate ideas and understand the audience.

When sought for reaction, Abunda initially said that although he is grateful to be considered, he is not “inclined to accept it.”

“I can help ‘Noy in another capacity. I have a personal relationship with Noy. I think it will be more effective if I continue what I am doing now… giving him advice — devoid of agenda and bias, devoid of politics,” Abunda said. (Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News)

Ayan, binawi na.

Lemme see.. among our past tourism secretaries were: Joe Aspiras, Tony Gonzales, Raffy Alunan, Narz Lim, Mina Gabor, Dick Gordon, and lastly Ace Durano. And Sen. Noynoy Aquino can only come up w/ Girl Abunda?!?!?

Cripes! I don’t think even Erap nor Manny Villar wouldn’t have been this idiotic to come up w/ an idea like this. What a big effing joke on everyone who voted for Noynoy Aquino. Nay, on the entire Philippines!

Time to pack our bags folks.

Acosta said that with defeats that his party mates suffered at the Commission on Elections, the Liberal Party might be too busy with the legal wranglings and could be distracted from pushing its candidates.
